Stage 3 · Prototype
Reimagining the vítor
With the artist Miguel Garcia
Born in the university tradition, above all in Salamanca, the vítor honoured those who earned the rank of doctor or professor. Painted on walls with natural pigments, it was public recognition of exceptional merit: a vítor is not kept, it is shared.
With Miguel Garcia we are reinventing it as a contemporary artistic expression: a symbol of collective identity, a unique visual language for each generation and a bridge between tradition and the present.
The new Vítor is an artistic system for recognising academic achievement. It is not a product or an object: it is a visual language created by the artist, applicable to many educational settings, and always tied to a real, verifiable academic goal.
Like the traditional vítor, it has an author. It carries a signature. And like every signed work, its value lies precisely there: in the fact that a recognised artist has decided this gesture deserves to be theirs.
Not as a replacement for the vítor, but as its natural heir: the same idea (achievement deserves a lasting artistic gesture) brought to every level of education, signed by a living artist.
Every school that adopts the new Vítor will be adopting a new tradition. Every student who receives one will be inscribing their name in a system created by an artist who decided their achievement mattered.
A vítor is not just painted. It is lived.
